Branding Your Website to Increase Your Leads

Whether a customer needs a new dentist or an auto mechanic, chances are the internet is where they turn first.   Most of us, without even thinking about it, will open our favorite search engine, type in our current need, and from the list of returned results, choose a website to visit.   From here, what happens when we arrive at our “destination site” can make or break your business.

A website is likely the first interaction a potential customer has with your company. Their first impression from your website sets the foundation for future opinions and transactions that aid in the process of converting them from a visitor to your customer.  Knowing how much rides on that first impression, it’s paramount that your website fully represent your brand: who you are and what you represent.

So how do you ensure your website accurately reflects your company?  By branding your site with your company identity.  A branded website provides a clear picture of your company through what and how it showcases. It’s the place where you can begin to tell your company story and engage your customers.  But your website not only promotes brand awareness; it’s also encourages lead generation and conversion. If someone likes what they see on your website, they’re more likely to take the next step and contact you.

From here, your ultimate goal is to turn this anonymous visitor into a lead. You have to give them tools that make it incredibly easy to reach out! For example, include a tab in the navigation bar specifically for contacting you, and include a short contact form on each page of your site to maximize the likelihood of making that connection.  These connections are inbound leads of individuals pursuing you for your exact services. It’s a whole lot easier to make a sale when the people you are interacting with are legitimately interested in what you have to offer. You don’t have to convince them that your products or services are necessary; they’ve already determined that by reaching out. And they may have reached out because of that top notch website of yours!

It may be hard to believe that so much of your business and brand can ride on one medium, but with the prevalence of the internet today, this seems to be the case. A strong digital presence isn’t just a luxury anymore, it’s a necessity and we make sure that your website is the best representation and leading sales tool for your company.

In creating a branded website, there are elements that will boost in the overall efficacy of your site.  From choosing an effective domain name to including call-to-action buttons, there are a couple of different tactics that are key in rounding out the identity portrayed on your website with the usefulness of your site:

  • Your domain name plays an important role in your branding strategy and generally it should be the same as your brand name.  If possible, including your industry in the domain name is also helpful for ease of identification and recollection from both current and potential customers. The domain www.PaintingByPaul.com provides an immediate clue into the services offered while www.PaulsPassion.com is a bit too vague for those not yet familiar with Paul and what he has to offer.

  • Another fundamental tip, include your tagline where possible on your site.  Your company tagline takes up a small amount of digital real estate but provides lots of insight. A good tagline is a short phrase that conveys what your business offers.  A great tagline takes it one step further by connecting with your target customer and inspiring them to take action.

  • And speaking of action, a call-to-action button is another important tool that adds to an overall online experience. Well strategized call-to-action buttons can be extremely effective in getting your users to make their way through the site and ultimately motivate them to do what you want them to do next. Choose your action words for each button with the user in mind. For instance, if you want them to request an estimate, “Get a quote” would be a more appropriate button than “Email me”. Finally, be strategic about the placement of buttons and how prominent they are on each page and you’ll undoubtedly start to see an increase in the leads brought in from your site.
