Web design involves so much more than creating a website that looks nice. At Triton Commerce, our websites are tailored to each client’s brand and industry. Through a structured approach toward conversion, they not only look amazing, but also produce real results, like web traffic, brand awareness, and contact form sign-ups.
Since the early days of our company, we knew it would be important to find employees who were talented in multiple aspects of web design, including front and back end development. We’re happy to say that Ken has been with us as a web designer and developer since 2012!
Get to know Ken and learn how he partners with the rest of Team Triton to create functional, well-designed sites that work quickly and smoothly on any device.
Can You Share A Little Bit About Your Background And What Led You To Your Role At Triton?
After working in technical support for three years, I decided to pursue my passion for design, which led me to apply for various design jobs online. After a few months of job hunting as a freelancer, I connected with Corey (Triton’s CEO) online, and that’s where it all started close to 8 years ago now.
Tell us a bit more about your role and everyday responsibilities for Triton.
My main role here at Triton Commerce is front end development and design. I am responsible for making the designs created by our designers come alive.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Position?
What I love about my role is how I am free to apply new things I’ve learned to improve our designs. I love exploring new processes and techniques. It keeps me excited to work every day!
What are some challenges unique to your role?
I get the chance to use analytical skills to improve our designs. Why analytical? Analytical in a sense that you need to focus on the design and make sure that a complicated design will still look nice on a tablet and mobile.
What is the most valuable thing you've learned so far during your time at Triton?
To always make time for my family. Corey always reminds me to enjoy and have family time as long as I am free from projects.
If you had to trade jobs with one person at Triton for a day, who would you pick and why?
If anything, I would love to do more designing, because this is where my passion lies.
When you were 5, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid, my dream was to become a scientist. I loved destroying toys and creating something new. I love to tinker.
What's something else unique or interesting about yourself that others might not know?
I love mountain biking and camping, and I fly FPV drones.
What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
I love to fly and create films.
