We sat down with Caryn to learn about her role at Triton, and what role she plays in helping our clients and team be more successful.
Can You Share A Little Bit About Your Background And What Led You To Your Role At Triton?
“I have worked in large national companies in upper-level operations management roles and have always loved growing businesses. This opportunity came through a family connection that, after some time of talking business, was an opportunity to grow a small business into a larger business. This role definitely had more meaning to me because of the family connection.”
Tell us a bit about roles and responsibilities as the COO for Triton.
“With proper planning and strategy, I work to create paths for everyone on our team, which helps us accomplish our clients’ goals.”
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Role?
“I enjoy working with the team to help each team member solve problems and complete tasks, as well as help them continue to grow within their roles.”
Describe a typical day for you in your role.
“There is no typical day in my role. Each day, I do what needs to be done in order to help our team be successful in their personal roles.”
What Are Some Challenges That Are Unique To Being A COO?
“The largest challenge is being able to have enough knowledge in the different areas of our business to be able to mentor people in their various roles. Digital marketing itself is always advancing and changing, which means each member of our team has to progress in their knowledge and professional roles as well.”
What's the most valuable thing you've learned so far in your time at Triton?
“All businesses, large and small, have tons of opportunities to grow their business, expand their market, and tighten their efficiencies to provide for a more profitable outcome and optimal success.”
Why is it so important for businesses -- large or small -- to invest in Digital Marketing?
“Yesterday’s children are now today’s online consumers … the digital era is the only way they know. Today’s technology is how they find information, create their opinions, and make choices. This means they’re easily influenced by others, which is typically done through digital marketing, YouTube, social media, etc.”
If You Had To Trade Jobs With One Person At Triton For A Day, Who Would you Pick and Why?
“I would trade jobs with Chelsea, our Graphic Designer. I fancy myself as a photographer and also think I have a good eye for design.”
Best place to eat in the Twin Cities?
“Murray’s, for sure. There are actually many, many restaurants I could list. If you want to see the ones I frequent most, check out my Instagram page."
Name one place you've never been to but would love to visit.
"I’d love to visit Australia because it sounds cool, and my daughter really wants to visit. Or Spain, because I speak Spanish, and after studying the language/culture, I think it would be great to go there."
What's your favorite hour and a half of the day . . . the drive to work, or the drive home?
"Neither. I think our Minneapolis office should be relocated south of the river!"
